Update December 2020

Well, it has been a strange year, to say the least.  We have been pleased to see that the park served a lot of people very well in the worst of the lockdowns and we were happy to see so many people enjoying the space.

In terms of activity in and for the park, we have been somewhat restricted but have still managed to achieve a fair bit.  The Friends have planted trees and the Mersey Forest is continuing with its planting, putting some in on Long Lane and, hooray, restoring the central avenue in the park.  The fenced off areas are a contribution to the Northern Forest project, also managed by Mersey Forest.  We are making our contribution to climate change melioration. Please help to protect young trees that are planted.

The Friends did manage to squeeze in a plant sale after the first lockdown and it was the most successful yet, so thank you to all who attended.  We hope your plants are thriving.

Litter picks have been resumed on the first Sunday of the month – 11 a.m. at the playground car park.  We work Covid safe so wear your own gloves and keep your distance.  We can supply litter pickers and bags.  These days you’ll need wellies or boots too!
